CNews WAH CANTT: At least 14 people were killed and several others were injured as two blasts, one confirmed as suicide, rocked Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) here Thursday.According to CNews, a blast occurred at Main Gate of the POF at rush hour which was immediately followed by another blast at Gate no.1.Local authorities confirmed that the second blast was suicide, while a foreign news agency claimed that both the blasts were caused by the suicidal attacks.The casualties might be increased as a number of POF workers among others were present at the gate.Ambulances were called from all over Rawalpindi district for rescue work and the dead-bodies and injured were brought to POF Hospital and others nearby hospitals.Security personnel immediately rushed the scene as the incident place considered to be sensitive due to the military installments. Forces cordoned of the area and helped the rescuers.DIG Rawalpindi Rao Iqbal confirmed the casualties of 11 people, saying that some 50 others were injured among many were in serious condition.

July 05: A Pakistani Scientist in Britain has invented a new chemical for processing plastic (polythene) bags which has the quality of dissolution after its use in 105 days.A manufacturing unit for these plastic bags was being set up in Turkey while interest has been shown in the setting up of a big unit and manufacturing firm’s head quarter in Karachi which will be used to supply such dissolvable polythene bags to Asian countries.
