CNews Karachi. Oct 29: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has sent relief goods worth Rs.1.5 crore as immediate help to earthquake victims in various areas of Balochistan. These includes 5000 food packets, thousands of blankets and tents.
The food packets contained flour, ghee, milk powder and other items.
Earlier the City Nazim on Wednesday talked with Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Gen. Farooq over the telephone and asked him about the immediate needs of the earthquake victims.
Gen. Farooq told Nazim Karachi that at present the affectees needs foods, blankets and tents on urgent basis on which City Nazim informed him that the city government Karachi was sending an initial aid of 5000 food packets costing over Rs1.5 crore along with thousands of blankets and tents for victims in earthquake hit areas of Balochistan and if needed, more such help will be arranged also”.
Nazim Karachi also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of valuable lives and property and said that the citizens of Karachi are ready to provide all kinds of help to their brethren in Balochistan.
He also said that such kinds of calamities could only be dealt with collective efforts and national spirit.
Gen. Farooq on this occasion appreciated the instant relief action for quake victims by the City District Government Karachi and called it a good omen.
He said that this kind of national spirit should also follow by other districts of the country.
