Altaf urges for peace in Karachi

Awaz Apni LONDON: Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain Monday in an appeal to the people of Karachi urged them to observe restraint and tolerance for peace in the city. In a statement Altaf condemned attacks by the armed miscreants in various localities of Karachi.He said when the country is facing an extremely critical situation and MQM, Awami National Party and Peoples Party are jointly working to maintain peace and unity and solidarity among various sections of the population, some enemies of peace and criminal elements are engaged in terrorism to destroy the peace of the city by killing several innocent citizens. Altaf demanded of the government to take stern action against the armed terrorists and urged for using all sources for restoration of peace in the country. He also appealed to the people of Karachi not to react on their own over any criminal incident but to inform the police, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies. Moreover, Altaf Hussain in a telephone call to nine zero directed MQM Rabita Committee to take maximum efforts for restoration of peace in the city with cooperation of the party workers and general public. He also expressed grief and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost their dear ones in terrorism incidents in Karachi.
