ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said that defeat was not an option in the war against terrorism and militancy, adding that the militants want to take over the state on the basis of power.“Let me also tell you that we are fated to succeed in this war no matter what the odds and what our critics may say,” the President said while addressing the members of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here at the Aiwan‑e‑Sadr.NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Federal Ministers Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Arbab Alamgir Khan, Waqar Ahmad Khan, Najmuddin Khan, Noor ul Haq Qadri, Rehman Malik and Shaukat Tarin also attended the meeting.The President said that the militants wanted to take over the state and impose their political agenda on the masses but they will never be allowed to succeed.He said that fighting militancy was the collective responsibility of all and instead of dwelling too long on the past, “we should look forward and take the bull by the horn.”The President said that after critically examining what went wrong and admitting the mistakes of the past, there was a need to move forward and find a solution.

July 05: A Pakistani Scientist in Britain has invented a new chemical for processing plastic (polythene) bags which has the quality of dissolution after its use in 105 days.A manufacturing unit for these plastic bags was being set up in Turkey while interest has been shown in the setting up of a big unit and manufacturing firm’s head quarter in Karachi which will be used to supply such dissolvable polythene bags to Asian countries. The Director of UK based firm Bio Plast Biodegradable Plastics GL Punn while leading a 15 member delegation called on EDO Municipal Services City Government Masood Alam.
