Awaz Apni KARACHI: Youm-e-Ashur is being observed today (Thursday) throughout the country with solemnity to remember the martyrs of Karbala.Alam and Zuljina processions are being taken out in Karachi, Lahore and other major cities across the country. The Ulema and Zakereen are highlighting significance of Ashura while mourners are paying tribute to Imam Hussain.To felicitate the people participating in the processions, sabeels of water medical camps have been set up at various spots on the way and distribution of Langar and Niaz has also been arranged at several places.A procession will be taken from Nishtar Park in Karachi, it will pass through traditional routes culminated at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian Kharadar.On the occasion fool proof security arrangements had been made at Nishtar Park as well as all along the procession route.The procession and Majlis are being monitored at the control room setup at Nishtar park and linked to Command and Control Centre at Civic centre through cameras.In order to avert any untoward incident Police have already been put on high alert. Other law enforcement agencies have been deployed at the sensitive routes of the mourning processions and roof tops of the buildings.Volunteers of Civil Defence and Bomb Disposal Squads will also escort the mourning processions to avoid any untoward incident.On Youm-e-Ashura, the newspapers have brought special supplements while radio and television channels broadcasting special programmes highlighting the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his 72 other companions in Karbala.
