Nokia has launched the new 7230 device aimed at lower mid range and design conscious users. The new mobile phone is now available for developers who want to test their mobile applications on it at Perfecto Mobile’s Handset Cloud Service.
Available in graphite and hot pink, the Nokia 3G slider phone is made for design conscious users who are looking for a device that optimizes imaging, sharing and socializing.
According to Right Mobile Phone what sets the Nokia 7230 apart from other low to midrange phones is the possibility to integrate a selection of services, such as Flickr, and the Nokia branded Ovi. “You can also use the built in web browser to access services such as Facebook and Twitter, plus the handset also supports Nokia messaging, which will allow you to set up a variety of popular email programs on the phone.”
The reviewer notes that entertainment is obviously a main part of the Nokia 7230, since the device comes loaded with 4 games, namely Snake III, Bounce II, Sudoku II and Rally Start, and users can download java based games. The handset supports Nokia Maps and GPS functionality can be added by connecting the handset to a Bluetooth GPS Dongle.
They reviewer also notes that the 3.2 Megapixel camera enables recording video at QCIF resolution, up to 15 fps might not be “the best performance from a Nokia device, but should work well enough if you send the video clips via MMS.”
Your Mobile Phone Reviews points out that the Nokia 7230 “allows the user to enjoy 3G connectivity when desired for high speed access to the Internet and the phones EDGE technology allows the user to experience high speed data transfers when their handset is connected to other devices to transfer data files.”
Users enjoy also the ability to either use a “cabled connection to other devices using the phones micro USB connection port or enjoy a wire free connection by using Bluetooth technology to connect their 7230 to other compatible Bluetooth devices.”
Right Mobile Phone summarizes concludes that “Overall the Nokia 7230 is a good looking device, and a strong, well rounded set of features. It may not break any ground on new features, but it suits well the market it is aimed at”, namely the lower mid range and design conscious users who appreciate the S40 operating system.
