The U8230 is the first Huawei’s private brand-based Android smartphone helping the company successfully enter the French market. It is now available for developers who want to test their new mobile applications on Perfecto Mobile’s Handset Cloud Service.
According to Shenzhen Post, the U8230 will “bring a more perfect experience of mobile internet to the French consumers” since “a series of Google services including Google Search, Google Map, Google Talk and YouTube are integrated in the device”. The phone also supports the Android Market application store, through which users can obtain a more personalized cell phone terminal experience.
“Huawei’s professional level in the terminal market” is demonstrated by the coverage of four classes of terminal products - products mobile broadband, cell phone, convergence and video communication terminal.
Stephanie Roy from Essential Homme expressed her excitement regarding the high battery capacity. With 1,500 mAH it is the longest battery capacity of any Android-powered handsets currently available. Further, she appreciates the low price tag of the device and the fact that users can “switch between full and half QWERTY keyboards and to navigate programs easily via a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen.”
PointGPhone concludes that “The Huawei U8230 is clearly not the Android smartphone of the year. But if the defects of the low internal storage, APN 3.2 mega pixels and the2.5 mm jack do not seem insurmountable and the device will still ample satisfy the user."
