SARGODHA: More than a dozen people were injured as an explosive went off in Imambargah in heart of the city, CNews reports Sunday.
Police said more than 200 people were present in the Imambargah in Block-19 area of the city to offer the Maghrib prayer.
The blast is initially said to be a suicide attack.
A madrasah and a mosque are also situated near the Imambargah in a busy market and residential area.
According to initial reports, rescue teams were sent to the blast site. Score of ambulances thronged to the site and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.
Hospital sources said some 18 people were received injured at district headquarter hospital.
Police and security personnel surrounded the Imambargah putting security cordon around it.
A number of houses in the area were destroyed and windowpanes of nearby buildings and houses shattered.
