Pakistan Super league is a $100 million tournament says Officials

Pakistan Super League
Quotes from the PSL Managing Director during a press conference earlier today.

We are negotiating with players from South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Australia. These are major countries and we have received positive responses. Names will be announced as soon as we have a substantial number of players confirmed.

BCCI does not allow their players to visit Pakistan, but we are in contact with players from Bangladesh.

We are in discussions with big names including Chris Gayle and others. Our representative is in the West Indies to discuss the PSL with players there.

We are approaching top players from every country including Bangladesh. We have taken care of the security situation and are informing players about our security measures. They can come and see all oursecurity arrangements for the PSL.

We have no policy to ban any player from any country. Our policy is to allow any player who can come and play and benefit the Pakistan Super league and Pakistan.

Bidding of players will be done in the last week of February. We have plans to do it after 24th of February.

We have 5 categories, 'Diamond', 'Platinum', 'Gold', 'Silver' and 'Emerging'. Both Pakistani and foreign players will be allocated in these categories. We are offering one of the best wages per match in comparison to other leagues.

This is a 100 million dollar tournament. Over a period of time, capacity will increase.

In emerging category we will give priority to young Pakistani players.

We have advertised broadcasting rights and we have had an overwhelming response. We have also had very good responses from franchises. There are 5 teams but we have more potential buyers.

By the end of February everything will be finalized.

We are thinking about giving our women’s team some exposure during this tournament.

In Depth: Could robots be the writers of the future?

CNETAnalysis: It might be concerned with aliens, outer space and dimensional jumping for now, but ‘sci-fi’ might have to be redefined if the latest advances in automated writing continue apace. Software that can construct sentences, analyse data and even put a ‘spin’ on a news story are threatening to make the newsdesk and the author’s writing room very different places. The end for journalists? Journalism isn’t complicated. The popularity of online news stories can be tracked – and therefore the importance of news easily ranked – while almost everything is written using the inverted pyramid structure . Since automated writing software can already do most of that, are we looking at the last generation of human journalists? Narrative Science’s Quill is the leading automated writing software title. It transforms structured data into readable, plain English stories that are identical to those written by humans, ...
