Print a 5-inch iPhone, although mockup not waterproof

CNET Analysis: The thought of a 5-inch iPhone is a nice one, but let’s face it, the larger version of Apple’s popular smartphone is not going to be released this year because of a number of factors, which we discussed yesterday. However, you do have an opportunity to get your hands on the iPhone 6 today, and that's by printing one. The reason why the larger iPhone is available for you to print is so that you can see how it feels in your hand. It’s obvious that we would not get to try out a real 5-inch iPhone anytime soon, so Mac Rumors thought that they would commission an image instead to see just how they got on as well. However, there is one issue that we can see, this mockup is not waterproof like the Xperia Z, so don’t try putting it down a toilet . This is not the first time that a printable mockup was commissioned, as the same was done to the iPad mini as well. Not only can you print a three-dimensional version of the proposed iPhone 6, but you can also print some of the screens as well, which not only gives you an idea of the size of the new icons, but also the text app and also the web browser as well. While the designer of this printable iPhone has stuck with the same design as the iPhone 5, it’s nice to see that not only is the 5-inch version taller, but finally wider as well, although still not as wide as other 5-inch smartphones currently on the market. There is an issue with the larger design though, as you will no longer be able to use the iPhone with ease using one hand like you currently can. I’m not too sure if this would bother me so much, because it hasn’t hindered owners of 5-inch smratphones becasue it has actually made life much easier, as it’s no longer a struggle to do certain tasks. Print the 5-inch iPhone by opening up these two files ( PDF 1 , PDF 2 and give it a try for yourself.

In Depth: Could robots be the writers of the future?

CNETAnalysis: It might be concerned with aliens, outer space and dimensional jumping for now, but ‘sci-fi’ might have to be redefined if the latest advances in automated writing continue apace. Software that can construct sentences, analyse data and even put a ‘spin’ on a news story are threatening to make the newsdesk and the author’s writing room very different places. The end for journalists? Journalism isn’t complicated. The popularity of online news stories can be tracked – and therefore the importance of news easily ranked – while almost everything is written using the inverted pyramid structure . Since automated writing software can already do most of that, are we looking at the last generation of human journalists? Narrative Science’s Quill is the leading automated writing software title. It transforms structured data into readable, plain English stories that are identical to those written by humans, ...
