CNET Analysis: You may have been wondering what has happened to the missing White Nexus 4 smartphone from Google. The elusive variant was expected to go on sale alongside the black model after launch, but Google are still quite clearly experiencing production issues which is holding up progress. The good news that we have for you this week, is that a release may now be a definite possibility after Google’s I/O conference in May. We say this as white Google Nexus 4 bumpers are now being spotted as on sale by certain retailers, and it should serve as an exciting reminder that the white model is very close to a release. As you can see on Google’s Play Store in the US, only the black bumper cases for the Nexus 4 are available at the moment, albeit out of stock at this time. However, the image seen above has been taken from a Canadian retailer called Videotron, who are now selling white Nexus 4 bumper cases for $19.95 in Montreal. As far as we’re aware, the same cases have not been spotted in US or indeed Europe yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they start turning up over the next few weeks. What we want to know though, is just how much demand there still is for a white Nexus 4? We say that because all eyes are now on the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is likely to come with better hardware specs out of the box than the Nexus 4. Is color everything to you, or has the white Nexus 4 craze now dampened severely due to the delays? The sparkling crystal finish on the back of the device is certainly pretty though, so Google really needs to speed things up if they are going to make the most of sales potential. Have you spotted any white Nexus 4 bumpers in your local electronics retailer? Let us know if you would still be willing to buy a White Nexus 4, or just the white bumper fitted on the black model.
