Abundance of HTC One cases

CNET Analysis: With the HTC One nearing its release in the US, we thought we would have a look at one accessory in particular that most smartphone users need, and that would be cases. Seeing as though this is a new handset, which is yet to be released in America, we're surprised at the abundance of HTC One cases available. As always, choosing the correct one can be a tough decision, but you just need to think clearly about what you need one of these cases for. Maybe you just want to offer a little protection without adding too much weight, considering the HTC One already weighs more than the Galaxy S4, or you need more protection because there is a chance your handset could get damaged. Firstly, we have the GemShell for HTC One from Speck. This case is made from polycarbonate and is shock absorbent, but we would not try to drop your phone from a great height, as this $34.95 case only offers limited protection. Next up we have the Double Dip Hard Shell for the HTC One, and what we love about this case is how the design helps to complement the looks of the handset itself. Again, the case has been made from polycarbonate, but it seems to have a far better look than the case above. The price for this is $23.95. If it’s more protection that you are looking for, then look no further than the Otterbox One Defender Series , which is also made from the same material as the two cases above, but offers far more protection thanks to the silicone outer layer and the screen protector as well. Prices start from $49.95. Finally we have the HTC One Double Dip Flip case , which has a tough polycarbonate outer shell and a soft polycarbonate lining. What we love about this accessory is how it not only offers a decent amount of protection for your HTC One, but also looks like a premium case as well, all for just $27.95. If these cases are not to your liking, then let us know what HTC One case you will be getting?

In Depth: Could robots be the writers of the future?

CNETAnalysis: It might be concerned with aliens, outer space and dimensional jumping for now, but ‘sci-fi’ might have to be redefined if the latest advances in automated writing continue apace. Software that can construct sentences, analyse data and even put a ‘spin’ on a news story are threatening to make the newsdesk and the author’s writing room very different places. The end for journalists? Journalism isn’t complicated. The popularity of online news stories can be tracked – and therefore the importance of news easily ranked – while almost everything is written using the inverted pyramid structure . Since automated writing software can already do most of that, are we looking at the last generation of human journalists? Narrative Science’s Quill is the leading automated writing software title. It transforms structured data into readable, plain English stories that are identical to those written by humans, ...
